First of all we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
This first term we have played many games and danced many times. That’s why some of the parents have been asking for the songs we sing and dance during our lessons. Herewith below are some examples and the benefits of each one. Bear in mind that learning English while dancing to TPR songs (Total Physical Response) is exciting and it works too, as pupils move and say the words at the same time. Even kids that show themselves too shy to talk or participate in other activities, eventually will dance and move with the rest of his classmates.
This old song used to be played in many hotels around the world for its British guests. It’s a simple song where we have to do what the lyrics say (sleep, walk, swim…) It’s simple but it works well, kids love the final part where we have to do everything faster.
This variation of the 5 little monkeys it’s nice to practice numbers and deduct numbers. Great to play roles, someone is the mama duck and the other 5 follow them until they get lost.
This song is fun-tastic to practice numbers and animals…watch out for the elephant !
An old but gold song to practice human body parts wild dancing around
Another great song to practice body parts and movements while dancing around.
This song has been created to be danced as a TPR song, where you have to do what pirate is doing. It’s a song against tablets and technology and to encourage kids imagination. Also it helps to raise awareness about climate change issue.
This song helps to improve pronunciation of some words that are difficult for non native speakers such as bread, milk or chocolate.
This activity combines vocabulary, as flashcards, where kids go naming along with dances we dance in the classroom. Fun-tastic way to learn while having fun
Same as before but with different vocabulary and dances.
Finally it’s fun to remember which are our rules while singing and doing the movements.
We hope that with this list you can keep your kids entertained while they are learning, make sure that they don’t just watch the videos but sing and dance along.
Thank you for your attention and see you next year !
